Dr Atwine Daniel is a Ugandan medical doctor, research consultant, with PhD in Epidemiology from University of Montpellier (UM1) in France, MPhiL in Science and Technology from Stellenbosch University (SU) in South Africa, and an Advanced Master in Public Health Methodology from Universite Libre De Bruxelles (ULB) in Belgium.
He has also received various postgraduate training which include advanced methods in Epidemiology and science communication from ULB. He is a globally recognized researcher who has won different international awards in research.
He is one of the top scientists in Uganda and has over 75 publications and book chapters.
His career interest is in both research and teaching.
He has worked with MSF-Epicentre, heading different research projects with an over 17 year experience in Clinical Research including implementation of 6 international Clinical trials within low resource settings, and over 13 year experience as part-time lecturer and postgraduate research supervisor at Mbarara University of Science and Technology (MUST).
He is the Founder/General Director at both SRF Research and Training Centres (Non-Profit) and Soar Research Foundation (For-Profit) in Uganda. He is an Epidemiologist and Research Consultant at MSF-Epicentre and MUST. He has coordinated the Clinical Trials’ training Program for the last 4 years at MUST. He is a research mentor and trainer. He is also the Founding Director African Biomedical Engineering Consortium (ABEC), and an Inaugural Senior Global Health Scholar at University of North Carolina Chapel Hill, USA.
Today, Dr Atwine is a advocating and practically supporting efforts towards promoting research excellence in Africa through pioneering research and mentoring researchers that address key health concerns of the vulnerable African people. He is setting-up One-Stop Centres for Health Research and Innovation within Africa. He is utilizing his vast experience in Chemotherapeutic Clinical Trials to supporting Medical Technology researchers/Innovators to implement robust Clinical Trials on medical devices.
Today, SRF Research and Training Centres offer the Research implementation and training infrastructure, ready research expertize to researchers that need to implement their high-quality research and Clinical trials.
